NANCY:
I think it absolutely ridiculous if I am to be honest with you, I don’t think my son should be receiving contraception at the age of 13!
VOICEOVER:
Sex at a young age has been a rising issue throughout the borough of Barking and Dagenham, there are many opinions on whether young people should be receiving contraception at the tender age of just 13.
NANCY
If anything they should be concerned with what hes doing in school, rather than out of school

Second Draft Of Newspaper Advertisement.

As i have become more familiar with photoshop i have produced a second draft of my newspaper advertisement taking into consideration of the feedback i received.
Feed back i received :

  • The picture is not clear that it is school children because of the effect.
  • The font colours don't really compliment the picture colours.
  • The font of the website and date is not big enough.
  • The time of when the documentary is going to be aired is not on it and neither is the HCTV logo.
So taking into consideration the feedback i got; here is my second draft, although i am not too sure about it, as i am thinking of changing it up.

As you can see i have took consideration of the feed back. I took off the effect which i think makes it more obvious that it is young people in school uniform. I added the time and the HCTV logo, i made the fonts of the website and date slightly bigger, and i changed the colour of the fonts, which in my opinion looks better now. However i think i am going to change my idea as i think i can be a little bit more creative with it.

First Draft Of My Newspaper Advertisement.

The project i am working on for my coursework requires me to create a newspaper advertisement , which relates to your subject matter, which in my case would be 'Contraception'.

So i have been trying to familiarise myself with photoshop as this will be the software i would have to use in order for me to create an effective newspaper advertisement. In the process of trying to work my away around photoshop, i came up with my first draft. However to see what i have done wrong and right i am going to show it to a couple of people within my target audience to get some feedback so i can improve it.

Newspaper Advertisement Research!

As i will be producing a newspaper advert it is only wise that i look into the pros and cons of a newspaper advert to see what ways in which my advertisement can be succesful. For our documentary we are planning to inform young people about teenage pregnancy and contraception. So for my newspaper advertisement i will be using a still image to connote to my target audience the advantages and disadvantages of using contraception.

As we are only a small tv company I have found out that a newspaper advertisement will work out to be cheaper and is also it is an effective way to inform a wider range of audience according to statistics i have been doing some research into.

However there are disadvantages to newspaper advertisements such as
  • people ignoring your advert
  • it might not reach the right target audience if it's not put in the right newspaper

Also through out my research i have have found out that, when doing a newspaper advertisement, it is good to avoid giving people contact info to call as it is a human tendecy to ignore it.
To give me an idea of how a good and bad newspaper advert about contraception and teenage pregnancy look like, here are two examples :

This advert in my opinion is not really a good advert as there is not enough information on it, yes you can tell that they are advertising contraception, but it doesn't tell you who they are and were the contraception can be found.

The advertisement above is a good example of how an effective advertisement looks as the title immediately tells us that they are for and informing people about contraception. Also by looking at the logo "NHS" it allows the audience to recognise who produced this advertisement as this is a very familiar logo to majority of people.
